Personnel or scheme, this defense is brutal. The Minnesota Freaking Viking's anemic offense just dropped 41 points on us with a rookie quarterback making his first start and no AP. We have the worst linebacking corp in the NFL, from Worrilow to Bartu, to that red eyed Twighlight wannabe steaming pile of dogshit that used to be Kroy Beirman, The Mass project is a utter failure. Shembo is the only one that I still have any hope for. I know that Dimi makes the picks and his gel laden cranium should roll as well, but Nolen's scheme with this personnel fuckin sucks and has shown no signs in his time here of improvement.

Yeah, I like Nolan, but you can't just watch things get worse and worse on his side of the ball and do nothing.
I don't think it's his fault, but something has to give, and it will be him if they don't improve.

I've lost faith in this entire organization. This isn't fixable.

I was excited as hell when they signed Nolan, but 570 yards surrendered today to the VIKING's Offense minus Adrian Peterson and Kyle Rudolph, with a rookie backup QB making his first start. Things haven't improved... at all

I don't have any faith in Smith's evaluation of players or his ability to coach them up. We have a team of cowards that are ostracized for getting excited so how can anyone expect our new players to gain the fire and improve? Everyone just seems complacent.
Nolan is surprising me. He's a great DC but something isn't working here. Either it's the lousy crop of talent or he just isn't gelling here. I still hold out that the main problem is the lame defensive line unable to get any pressure. EVER.
Dirk "bubble screen" Koetter can walk with Smith down to the Jaguars.

I understand there are talent deficiencies on defense since they're still at least a year away from having the roster they want but this is ridiculous. Nolan got a stouter D-line but all that has happened is that the defense has gotten worse and, for whatever reason, he's still fixated on giving players like Biermann playing time.

I don't think scheme is playing a factor in the d lines inability to get pressure.

Well when you have pass rushers ( mass,Mopanga, Osi) all dropping back into coverage ............. yea Scheme is a DIRECT issue with causing pressure.
The fact we had Beirman trying to cover Greg jennings..................... that tells me all that I need to know

The expectations from Osi were way too high.
A few plays like that can also be the problem but what about the rest of the time? Every QB has all day to throw. I think Nolan knows he's trying to make chicken salad with chicken shit and he's trying any and everything.

We saw pass rushers drop back in coverage 4 or 5 times...... and each time we got burned We also only tend to rush 3

I think thats exaggerating a bit. We rush 4 quite a bit but it does look like 3.
Either way, it's still the same problem, different coordinator. I think it goes much further than DC.

No its not really an exaggeration. we rush 3 more than we should. and when we do rush 4 we are running just generic rushes... we are not doing alot of stunting or twisting or anything like that...when we have we have put some pressure. Right now we are not taking full advantage of our talent IMO
