Rest for Matt Ryan, return for Roddy White on final day of minicamp
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Quarterback Matt Ryan rested while veteran wide receiver Roddy White returned following a two-day absence as the Atlanta Falcons concluded mandatory minicamp with a light Thursday practice.
T.J. Yates and Sean Renfree got the majority of the work at quarterback. Coach Dan Quinn said it was important for Yates to get first-team reps before training camp. White, who was rested Tuesday and Wednesday so nothing would flare up, had a very light load.
The Falcons were without rookie running back Tevin Coleman, who suffered a mild groin strain during Wednesday's practice. Also sidelined was starting right guard Jon Asamoah, who missed the entire minicamp with a right ankle injury.
Left tackle Jake Matthews (foot), center Joe Hawley (ACL/MCL), safety William Moore (shoulder) and cornerback Jalen Collins (foot) were among the players coming off surgery who were limited. Moore saw more extensive action than the previous two days.
Receiver Devin Hester remained away from the team while coping with a death in the family.
Quinn said defensive end Malliciah Goodman suffered a knee injury.
