We know they're going to showcase the Apple Watch again. We're pretty sure an ultrathin 12" Macbook Air is going to be introduced. There was talk of an iPad Pro 12" model that would be announced, but the latest reports are that has been pushed to September (when Apple updates iPads anyway).
So the watch, which we've already seen, and a new Macbook Air. Doesn't seem like enough content to fill out an entire event.
I'm wondering if we're going to see a refresh of the Apple TV after all of these years. We know they've been working on it, but there hasn't been a lot of recent chatter. Plus, with HBO Now ($15 stand alone service) launching in April, that would be a perfect opportunity to promote an updated Apple TV partnered with HBO Now since HBO Go is already on the Apple TV.
The "Spring Forward" nod to Daylight Saving Time could also be a clue about some peripherals, which Apple hasn't updated in a very long time. The Magic Mouse (which is still pretty freaking amazing) is now six years old. Their keyboards are about the same age. Even the newer "EarPods" are almost four years old. I saw a report a few years back on a patent awarded to Apple that allowed for heart rate monitoring through earbuds, so that's a (probably unlikely) possibility. Another possibility might be Apple unveiling a new music technology to replace its current iTunes scheme. We know that U2's Bono has been working with Apple on some new technology that cannot be pirated and they say (e.g., hype) as revolutionizing the music industry. So that could be the "spring forward" part of the event.
This event is kind of odd in that there is not a lot of solid information about what they're going to showcase. The past few years worth of events, we've had a very good idea about what was going to be shown, but this event seems to have the least amount of info leading into it. So I guess it will make it all the more interesting.
That is all.
