Brian Hoyer says Browns' text message probe could affect his free agent decision
Cleveland Browns free agent quarterback Brian Hoyer acknowledged that the NFL investigation into the Browns' text messages could be a factor in his decisions on his future.
Browns general manager Ray Farmer could be facing a suspension and the organization could be fined for front office members, including Farmer, texting coaches during games.
"To read the stories and see what's going on, I'm just as interested as you guys are to see where that comes out," Hoyer told reporters."Especially because when you read it has to do with the quarterback situation and play-calling. That's something that could affect how I feel about it. For me, I'm looking forward to see what comes out of that."
Hoyer didn't want to say much about what's going on.
"I'm not going to comment any more other than the fact that I'm just as interested as you all are to see where that goes," Hoyer said.
Hoyer commented on Johnny Manziel going to rehab, apparently for alchohol dependency.
"It takes a big person to take those steps," Hoyer said. "I'm hoping for the best for him."
Hoyer also commented on offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan resigning with two years left on his contract.
"You don't just leave a job to leave," Hoyer said.
