Jamaal Charles blames refs for Chiefs loss
A lot of times players go the diplomatic route and say nothing following an emotional loss. Chiefs tight ends Anthony Fasano and Travis Kelce did that following Kansas City's 17-14 loss to Arizona.
But running back Jamaal Charles was not happy with calls made that took away two big plays. One would have been a touchdown to Fasano, which was taken away due to a quesitonable call in the third quarter. In the fourth, Kelce had a long reception nixed after officials ruled he fumbled on replay, even though the call on the field was a completion with his knee touching the ground.
"The reason why we lost is the refs didn't go our way," Charles said, via ESPN.com. Charles also said the calls were "just crazy."
You can always argue that the refs didn't decide the outcome based on two plays. But both of those plays were pivotal moments in the game. They definitely played a role in the final score being what it was, which has to be frustrating for the Chiefs.
Kudos to Charles for speaking up his mind following the game. He may receive a fine for his words, but at least he was honest enough to show his displeasure over two calls the rest of the country outside of Phoenix were left baffled about.
