Indeed and you will have them. For now, let these 2 wet your whistle (I am going to assemble it today): That's almost certainly the last bag of BGE charcoal I'll use. It's made by Royal Oak, so I'll likely buy some reasonably cheap lump and just roll with that. The coals are for temperature, not flavor, so I really don't see the sense in using designer charcoal.

We're going to find out if it cooks as good as it looks.
I have to say, though, every time I tell a current BGE owner I just bought one, I feel like I changed religions instead of just buying a grill.
Q: How do you know if someone owns a Big Green Egg?
A: They'll tell you.

Good to go now! Happy for you man. I use mostly Royal Oak, it's fine but you're right not pay double because of the bag saying BGE on it. Wicked Good Weekend Warrior blend is my favorite but I don't buy it often. I used to use True 'Cue that Home Depot sold, it's made by a company called OMC (who owns Broil King and Big Steel Keg now called Broil King Keg). I was given 40+ pounds of it from a Broil King rep back in October and have already used it. I think I'm down to about 80 ponds of Royal Oak, lol. Looking forward to your pics of you breaking the cherry! Now the rest of you slackers need to keep up! Post some pics dammit

This is the only kind of stuff that I'll be making until I can eat solid food again.

This is the only kind of stuff that I'll be making until I can eat solid food again. I love the way you marbled that beef broth into the mint ice cream. Well done!
