I need to vent.
I don't care how many yards Matt Ryan passes for, I don't care what his quarterback rating is, I don't care how many consecutive passes he completes.
I don't care how many catches Julio makes, I don't care how many yards he gets, I don't care what his yards after catch are.
I don't care how many yards we gain on the ground, I don't care how many field goals Matt Bryant kicks.
I'd say that I didn't care about the number of sacks we get or how well the Offensive Line protects Matt Ryan, but it's easy not to care about things that are fantasy....
Unless we win the game.

After the game yesterday and throughout the day today we're gonna be drowning in interviews with various Falcons coaches and players, like 'We're so close', 'We just need to clean up a few items', and lots of other BULLSHIT that tries to make long-suffering fans feel better.
I'm done investing any more emotional capital in the Falcons.
They are the NFL version of the Chicago Cubs: they suck most of the time, but will occasionally improve just enough to make you think that 'this is our year.' They have sucked the life out of me for the last time.
Frustrated. Done.

Don't give up in the middle of the first year installing one of the most complex offensive systems on the planet.
Ryan's footwork is shit right now. He'll clean it up. The offensive line is shit right now. It may be next season, but we'll improve it. We know for a fact this system works and works well. There's no need to pull the rip cord just yet.

You're right, of course. I'm certain that Ryan will get his shit together, and I can hope that the OL can somehow protect Matt, give him another second or two to throw the ball, and provide some occasional creases for our RB's to gain more than 17 yds. in a game. Just had to vent. So sad that we have one of the weakest schedules in the NFL and yet.....we watched the Falcons SUCK for the last four games. Lose to the Saints and Buc's? Lose to the 49er's? Disappointing. |

Uncle Artie is old,..he's not THAT slow to act/axe anymore The post-game 'coach speak' is what typically gets said by most run-of-the-mill coaches, but it's always refreshing to have the really great ones straight talk about what really went well and where the team (and his coaching performance) sucked. Hope Quinn finds his backbone and starts straight talk. Thinking there's some validity to your point, but he's a rookie head coach so I'll give him a pass on his STUPID FUCKING FIELD GOAL call....as long as he doesn't do it again. Oh yeah...and if he acquires some OL support to help the run game and before Ryan gets killed and before Roddy gets too old and slow to be an impact player, that would be nice, but wait....how would we know about Roddy when he isn't being targeted??  |

Wondering about Shannie myself; however, he's not the one throwing an interception when we're on the verge of scoring AND he's not the one throwing a pick-6. What the hell has happened to Matt Ryan? Is he trying too hard to make something happen instead of throwing the ball away, trying to force the ball into spaces that are (obviously from the results) not there? Is he trying to carry the team on his shoulders? WTF. Has anyone seen Roddy...does he still play for us? WTF.
I didn't expect us to have a Super Bowl team after two seasons of SUCK, but after teasing us with a few early season victories I didn't expect us to implode when playing games we should be winning. With one of the easiest schedules in the NFL. WTF.
and.....will someone please beat the fuck out of the Panties?

Decided. Don't like Shanny Jr. What nI read on the 'Skins board is true, your first 4-5 games look good and shiney,..then he refuses to adapt his game and shit flows downhill. I agree.

I was hoping he'd become more like Brees, Big Ben, Rodgers. Never expected him to become Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Brett Favre, Dan Marino...but that would be awesome.
Let's just hope he doesn't regress into Joey Harrington 2.0
