Because there's not much moderating to do around here, I might as well make good on the "global" part. I'm traveling out of the country for about three weeks, so might not be posting as frequently as usual. Don't burn the place down while I'm gone.
I'm looking at you, IowaHorse.

Where are you heading? My wife and I have been spending lots of time in Europe over the last five years: Italy, France, Germany, UK, and Ireland mostly.

He's traveling the region of child prostitution, dirty food and canings. Okay, I'm being broader than I should be here, dragging Thailand and Singapore into the general vicinity he's visiting. But still.

I'm giving a warning point to each and everyone of you. And the guide's name is Ho Wee Fuk, thank you.
Things I have eaten on this visit thus far - dog meat, fish heads, cow nose, kopi luwak (look that one up), tendon from cow legs, chicken skin satay, and cow lung crackers. And no, I'm not joking nor exaggerating. The cow tendons and chicken skin grossed me the fuck out. Everything else was delicious.

Thinking I'm sticking to Europe for now, but Asia is on my radar for the near future.

Sounds delicious....said nobody ever! ;-) Thinking I'm sticking to Europe for now, but Asia is on my radar for the near future. That's the weird food. The normal stuff is outrageously good. [Okay, so the weird stuff is also outrageously good if you can get past the preconceptions.] Beef rendang is the best thing ever. Tempeh with sambal and fried chicken...unreal. Only fried chicken I've had that was better was my grandmother's. Nasi pecel in East Java should be on everyone's bucket list. And those fried tofu chunks dipped in kecup manis is the best $.50 you'll ever spend. Not many places in the world where you can get a huge lunch made from scratch, with a chicken that was running around outside just that morning, for about $2.00 a person.

Isn't kopi lewak kinda like ABC gum?

Seriously, dog is under-rated, but I've only had it in like a stew sorta thing.
