His use of pentatonics mixed with chord tones and natural minor is textbook stuff. He's so far from a "just pentatonics" guy it's unreal. I suppose one could say Page uses pentatonic scales in the same way one could say Duane Allman or Dickey Betts or David Gilmour use pentatonic scales. It's true, sort of, but it doesn't really tell the whole story. The entire "he only uses pentatonic" argument is absurd. But lets set aside that and for the sake of argument say it is correct. He has sold over 300+million albums being a "slave to the pentatonic". Anyone who hints at trying to play the guitar can play the scale. Not too many people can play it and sell that many records with it.

DADGAD Noodling. Page got sued for "stealing" this too. The only problem is it is an old traditional celtic tune that dates back hundred of years. The guy making a cash grab had plagiarized it too. Page's sin is not citing it on the record as "traditional arranged by Jimmy Page". Just because he was able to make money playing it doesn't mean the other schmucks who played it before, but had no hand in writing it, should get a cut of the profits. This bit is long, maybe too long, but it has some really great playing on a cheap Korean make guitar.
Bah video below.

We had a drummer, who has since passed on (RIP) my buddy who plays guitar, me who kind of plays guitar, and a bass player. I said lets play Houses of the Holy. They said okay show us how. 1,2,3,4, 1,2 start playing...wait what was that chord...well it's Jimmy page. its a chunk of G chord and some added notes and some sus notes added...we struggled through it and it ended. That was the last time I was invited to Jam night.... Edit to add: My jam buddies where all about playing the I IV V chord, maybe with some diminished 7's thrown in. Houses of the Holy blew their minds...
