NBC drops new Bill Cosby sitcom as Netflix postpones comedy special amid sexual assault allegations
The planned NBC show was due to launch in 2015 and was supposed to mark the comedian’s return to the network. Three women, including former supermodel Janice Dickinson, claimed the entertainer drugged and raped them between 1969 and 1985. A fourth woman posted on Facebook that she too was assaulted, but deleted the accusation hours later.

NBC has ditched its plan to bring Bill Cosby back to primetime after three women slammed the comedian with serious rape accusations.
The network was set to launch a new sitcom starring the 77-year-old in 2015, but halted those plans Wednesday, network officials confirmed.
NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks said Wednesday the project "is no longer under development" and had no further comment.
The proposed show was still in its early planning stages, production sources told the Daily News. The comedy didn’t even have a script yet.
The decision came a day after Netflix announced it was postponing a stand-up comedy special featuring Cosby.
“Bill Cosby 77” was due to premiere on Nov. 27. The streaming giant did not say why it delayed the comedy special, but its Tuesday announcement came just hours after a third woman claimed the comedian drugged and raped her.
Three women have publicly accused Cosby of assault after comedian Hannibal Buress called Cosby a rapist during a stand-up gig in Philadelphia last month.
On Tuesday, Janice Dickinson claimed Cosby raped her in 1982.
The former supermodel said he gave her “wine and a pill” that made her blackout during a trip to Lake Tahoe. When she woke up the next morning, she remembered being sexually assaulted before she passed out, she said.
Publicist Joan Tarshis claimed Cosby attacked her a decade earlier.
On Sunday, she claimed the comedian lured her into his home in 1969 when she was a starstuck, aspiring actress. There, he drugged her and forced her to perform oral sex on him, she claimed.
Barbara Bowman was the first alleged victim to come forward: last week, she claimed Cosby raped her in 1985 inside his New York City brownstone.
A fourth woman penned a note on Facebook Tuesday making similar accusations. The post was later deleted.
Cosby has never been criminally charged in any of the alleged rape cases.
In 2006, a Temple University employee claimed he drugged and groped her in his mansion. Cosby settled that case outside of court.
