Lions expected to sign Bynes, working out Angerer
Linebacker leaving Ravens' practice squad Aaron Wilson
Veteran free agent linebacker Pat Angerer is working out for the Detroit Lions today, according to a league source.
The Lions are expected to sign inside linebacker Josh Bynes off the Ravens' practice squad, according to a source.
Bynes started six games for the Ravens last season and recorded 42 tackles.
Angerer worked out for the New Orleans Saints and New York Jets last week.
He has also worked out for the St. Louis Rams since the Atlanta Falcons cut him.
The former Iowa standout has dealt with foot and knee injuries that have sidelined him for portions of the past two seasons.
He ended last season on injured reserve with the Colts.
Angerer got his career off to a great start, tallying 88 tackles in 2010 and 148 in 2011. In 2012, that number dipped to 28 and in 2013 he finished with only 63 tackles in nine starts.
When healthy, Angerer is a tough, productive linebacker.
